doom

it was great to see doom strut around the stage in that metal mask while wearing a tommy polo and jeans, striking exaggerated poses and pretending to be a super villain and all. show was pretty routine though other than that, with the dj playing (and not doing much else) the trax and doom rapping over them. he played some madvillain stuffs and stuffs from operation doomsday, but i was disappointed that he didn't do anything more outrageous, like going offstage and coming back as viktor vaughn. that is, until i realized that the new cd wasn't coming out until later this week, and that i was supposed to be excited to hear new stuff. I guess that's the downside of 'advanced' copies. He was only on for an hour, and my guess is that he just wanted to finish up the show asap and smoke up. On a side note, it seemed like everyone in the packed room knew the lyrics and it was scary seeing them worship him like a god.

Pixies tonight...

wasn't a complete sausage fest, but ratio was high, around 5/1 or 6/1. it was at the so-so abbey pub.
