wi-fi shiz

it's amazing how in taiwan, you walk around and at first sight it's the rankest, dirtiest, nastiest, place ever, with old tile covered buildings, 80's era scooters everywhere, old men at every park, an industrial atmosphere accented by intense smog, and pushcart food vendors. you can't even drink the tap water there. but yeah, if you look carefully, they kind of have their shit together. i guess it's all about where you have your priorities.

weddings in the internet age

wow, i did not know that you could purchase wedding gifts online, until now. they even ship it to the bride and groom's address. talk about the convenience of giving and receiving. it's kind of evile, though. definitely allowing the possibility of unimpeded spending, with the ease of a click and preventing the guilt of pulling out the cash. wait, why am i speaking this way about gifts for the wedding of two friends?

MNF locker room interracial love scene!

The racial backlash to the MNF pre-game skit incident...He does have a valid point.

big aristotle

does anybody else thing that shaq's photo on his profile page makes him look like some crazed mass murderer?

alkie%%%%

I browsed over to the u of c counseling site and started taking one of their self-assessment tests. Apparently, my screening results are "consistent with symptoms of hazardous or harmful alcohol use", and it suggests: "people can suffer from more than one disorder at the same time, or one can cause symptoms that seem like the other, you may want to take all screenings offered". I'm offended.

pr0n

new natalie portman flick coming out directed by the dude that is most notably known for the graduate, mike nichols. i'm ecstatic to report that portman will be playing a stripper. at the same time, i'm disappointed by the fact that nichols removed the nudie scenes.

Fu?

An update on the murderous rampage.

inherent flaw?

i noticed that CHRIS IS CRAZY everyone of us on this blog has rights to publish/edit/comment, but that they don't parce out each function in terms of which rights one is allowed to have. this kind of initiated the sinister thought that perhaps if we all published something at the same time, or some of us publish something, some of us edit the template and some of us comment, we might be able to bring down the whole blogger website, the whole blogger server, the whole bloggin thing. and maybe even take down a good portion of the internet as well, and change the world as we know it. the question would be, is that something we really want? in my current bored state, i think it would be fun and interesting to see the results.

doom

it was great to see doom strut around the stage in that metal mask while wearing a tommy polo and jeans, striking exaggerated poses and pretending to be a super villain and all. show was pretty routine though other than that, with the dj playing (and not doing much else) the trax and doom rapping over them. he played some madvillain stuffs and stuffs from operation doomsday, but i was disappointed that he didn't do anything more outrageous, like going offstage and coming back as viktor vaughn. that is, until i realized that the new cd wasn't coming out until later this week, and that i was supposed to be excited to hear new stuff. I guess that's the downside of 'advanced' copies. He was only on for an hour, and my guess is that he just wanted to finish up the show asap and smoke up. On a side note, it seemed like everyone in the packed room knew the lyrics and it was scary seeing them worship him like a god.

Pixies tonight...

United States of Europe

I had no idea that the EU was this far along in its development (username/pass: mynameischris). I had originally thought of it as a convenient economic arrangement, but apparently the goal is for something along the lines of a federation of states, complete with constitution(no death penalty! equal rights for gays and lesbos! guaranteed education, healthcare for all!) and all. Very impressive.

wow

can someone tell me if this guy's shit is good?

watch out for the furry man (mad links)

interesting night. started with 2 pint cans of oe at my friend's place. then headed over with his roomie (who is driving me to mfdoom monday) and her friends to this toy store opening which will have free booze. when i first heard that i was like 'what? they gonna get all these little kids drunk?' and then was explained that it was a 'designer' toy store/gallery. basically art disguised as toys for adults. yeah, there were lots of art fags there, but generally a good vibe. free beer helps. there, they were promoting this series of gorilla toys called furilla. seeing that, i had to pick it up (fu + gorilla = furilla!). also, i was a bit drunk. apparently this was a big event as it was sponsored by the onion, and i met a u of c chick who came all the way from hp to check it out and buy toys. she wasn't that hot, like most u of c chicks, but she looked like she was twelve and made me feel like an (dirty) old man. they also had no bafroom there so i had to goto the mcdonald's across the street. after a few beers, we went back to the apartment to meet up with leopard and more people, and i had another oe. after everyone was there we headed out to sonotheque to see a dj set by el-p and peanut butter wolf. place was all super styled minimalistic; crowd was 99.9% hipster and a complete sausage fest. i was told that el-p was already spinning at 10. didn't know that he was white. i really didn't listen to the music that much as i was trying to deal with my drunk self. had two more vodka tonics, which were surprisingly strong and cheap. at some point, i managed to call kartika twice for some reason (looking at my phone record this morning). i also apparently called f, who told me this morning that he talked to leopard (f says that leopard said that he was babysitting me again). don't remember any that though. my memory blacks out for a bit, and next thing i know, i'm sitting at huck finn's, which is the golden nuggaz of the south side, on damen and 100th or something. i was sitting across from leopard in a booth, with a plate of cold scrambled eggs sitting in front of me. i look at it and run for the bathroom to yak a bit, completely missing the toilet. i yak some more, this time in the toilet. then i black out again, but somehow i get home. didn't really feel the hangover this morning until i was at the post office, waiting in a long ass line and watching the mail lady take ten minutes per person to fill out a form for picking up packages. felt like puking again at that point.

more doom

MF Doom tour, including NY date, during Thanksgiving week. Maybe I'll just head up there for that.

Karma Chameleon

As some (or one) of you probably know already, I broke up with c the other day(yes, I was actually officially technically dating her for a month or something). Didn't really mean to do it, of all days, on her birthday. but as f says, it just kind of came to a head, and it's just another day anyways. It's funny because the last thing I wanted to do was hurt her, and that's what ended up happening somehow. I wonder if its karmic justice for her, for the shit she put me through over the summer. But if that's so, does this mean that I now have bad karma as well, from the karma dealt to her because I did do something that caused suffering for someone. Or does it just even out? Sorry for turning the Actuator into a personal blog. I did put a link in here though, which does keep in line with the theme of this whole thing.

Mmm....food

Can someone please acquire the new mfdoom and distribute it, please?

First Chicks

Anybody else think that Bush's daughters(behind Bush) look busted, used, abused, and tossed? I remember just four years ago, those two were bright, innocent, and fresh looking (virgin?) girls about to enter UT and Yale.

For lack of effort

In my boring, monotonous job, and in my boring monotonous life, I find amusement and a bit of an excuse to procrastinate my life each day by reading this shit: http://chicago.craigslist.org/mis/. I think it's a great poor man's/hackjob gist of stuff like chungking express, in the mood for love, kieslowski. How did I get to reading such asinine shit? I really don't know. Anyways, maybe this can help take away some precious time of your day.
